Viva! Reunion 2006
More than 30 former research participants who took part in Professor Park's pilot
study on the benefits of a novel leisure activity for older adults reunited on
Thursday, Feb. 9 for an afternoon of food, fun, and conversation at Viva!, the
Center for Healthy Minds' storefront at Lincoln Square Mall.

Many people who participated in the quilting study continued to pursue their
newfound hobby after the formal courses ended. Some of those individuals brought
with them recent work that they have completed. Their creativity was astounding -
they have made blankets, wall hangings, purses and jackets, to name a few items.
Some of the participants from the digital photography course have continued explore
the world from behind the camera. One woman has entered amateur photography
contests and has won awards.
All of the Viva! alumni were pleased to reunite with former classmates and peers,
and catch up on one another's busy lives. Thanks to all who took time out of their
day to visit with the Center for Healthy Minds. For more information on the Viva!
